D636/D638 Direct Drive Valve (DDV) with FieldBus

Description/Valve Construction

The Digital Interface Valve is a Direct Drive Valve (DDV) with microprocessor based electronics and a CANopen fieldbus. These Servo-Proportional Valves are parameterized and monitored using the built-in CANbus interface. Process data such as command signals and actual states can be transmitted via the CANopen process data protocal or via the analog inputs and outputs. The valve fieldbus interface conforms to standard protocols to enable users to work with a variety of standard and custom PLC and PC-based applications.

This Servo-Proportional Valve features a high force level permanent magnet linear force motor directly driving the spool. An LVDT is attached to the spool to provide spool position feedback. An internal loop is closed around the spool position. The built-in pressure transducer option is available with state-of-the-art internal loop closure at 100 microseconds sample time and easy to use on-line tuning.

This valve series includes a D636 valve with flow control (Q), and a D638 valve with pressure control (P), or optional flow and pressure control (PQ) capabilities. Up to two analog input commands or digital inputs and up two analog actual value outputs with programmable functions are available as options.

Moog Valve Configuration Software

The MS Windows?based software enables fast and convenient start-up, diagnostics, and configuration via the CANopen fieldbus and a PC-installed CAN interface card. The interface card is available as USB, PCI or PCMCIA. The graphical user interface displays and logs status information, valve characteristics, and oscilloscope data.

This product is based on Moog's proven DDV product line with high driving forces, low energy consumption, and a built-in fail-safe option. Self-diagnostics of controller, hardware, and built-in transducers also provide higher safety assurance than can be achieved with analog electronics.
